Local Business Spotlight

One business, every week. The places I tell my clients about when they ask what the neighborhoods around here actually feel like, not the tourist version, but the real one.

Libby's of Lexington

Lexington, SC

Ask anyone in Lexington where to take the family for lunch and you will get the same answer fast: Libby's. It has been on Main Street since 2010, family-owned the whole run, and it sits in the middle of downtown like it has always been there. A counter, booths, a menu that covers the bases, and a dining room full of people who clearly eat here often.

The food is American, with some Italian and seafood mixed in, and the list does not waste your time. The Philly cheesesteak is the one everyone gets pointed toward, the Libby burger is a close second, and the Asian steak wrap has a following you hear about. Everything is made to order, and the daily specials are worth reading before you commit.

It holds a 4.5-star average across several hundred reviews, and the line people keep landing on is that everyone in this town eats here. A restaurant that survives on regulars is a place worth knowing, and that is exactly what I tell people new to Lexington.

Own a local business in the Midlands?

I am always looking for good local businesses to spotlight. The kind of places I actually go to and genuinely tell people about. If you run a shop, a restaurant, a service, or anything else that makes Irmo, Chapin, or Lexington feel like home, I would like to hear from you.
